My cousin and I stayed 4 days in cottage 7. The cottages are separated by a parking space which provided great privacy. We really liked that aspect of the inn. Inside was clean, cozy and complete. It had a small kitchen that included all we needed for our stay and sleeping was comfortable. We enjoyed sitting at the small dining table and looking out at the beautiful flower gardens, trees and surroundings. It was evident the owners took pride in caring for the grounds. Various freshly baked muffins, fresh fruit, coffee and tea were provided each morning. (our muffin choices were blueberry, chocolate chip, mixed berry, and coconut with white chocolate)during our stay.) Believe me when I say these are the best muffins I've ever had. Our hosts, Anne and Tom were very accommodating in making sure we had everything we needed and answering all of our questions on what to do, where to visit and where to eat. We would highly recommend to anyone to try out this Trenton gem, located an easy drive into Bar Harbor and Acadia park.
This place is a great spot to stay. Easy on the pocket, clean, friendly service. Fresh muffins every morning. Hot tub (make sure to find out times for hot tub) This place has a cute bed and breakfast feel. There is a bus you can catch if you are headed to Bar Harbor.
Had an amazing stay at one of the cottages. The price was good for being close to Acadia National Park. The hot tub was great after walking around exploring all day. Would definitely recommend to others.
Wonderful place to stay for our trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We felt so comfortable and very well cared for at Open Hearth Inn. You can tell Tom and Anne do everything they can so their guests enjoy their stay. We wish we could have stayed longer. The fresh baked muffins at the lodge/main office were to die for every morning.
This is a nice, clean place to stay. The cottages are very quiet and private. Th is is not a fancy hotel, if that's what you are looking for. It is cozy though, and the owners bent over backwards to help me with check in and catching a flight. The airport, grocery store and a restaurant are all within walking distance, which is good, since you may not be able to get an Uber or a taxi.
